
Roger is responsible for managing progress of individual science contracts for the NZAGRC.
Roger joined the NZAGRC in September 2024, following a role as Foresight Analyst at AgResearch and before that, eighteen years as a Principal Scientist at the New Zealand Institute for Plant & Food Research Ltd.
Roger holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Sciences and a PhD in Biochemistry from Keele University, UK. For much of his career, Roger has researched the human health benefits of phytochemical bioactive compounds from various fruits and vegetables with a particular focus on berryfruit. Roger has worked with various food industries and government bodies and has assisted the commercialisation of several new food products.
