Christina Gomes is the Strategy, Impact and Engagement Manager at the Ag Emissions Centre, her team covers portfolio and risk management, marketing and communications, stakeholder engagement and capability development. Based in Palmerston North, she plays a central role in ensuring the Centre’s work delivers meaningful outcomes for New Zealand’s agricultural sector by connecting science, policy, and sector priorities to accelerate practical solutions for reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.

An accomplished innovation and business leader, Christina brings more than two decades of experience across start-ups, corporate organisations, and government, with a strong track record of delivering New Zealand-bred innovation to global markets. Her leadership experience spans innovation-driven organisations including Fonterra, Education New Zealand, and Merck Sharp and Dohme and ACNielsen, alongside founding roles in the start-up sector. Her expertise lies in connecting global market intelligence, strategy, and innovative ideas, and driving their successful implementation and commercialisation. Known for her strategic mindset and collaborative leadership style, Christina is passionate about creating impact through innovation that strengthens New Zealand’s global competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
